Pepco opens new retail space in Berlin – expansion to Portugal planned

Pepco has opened a new store in Berlin, making it number 3000 in total. Two years ago, location number 2000 opened in Croatia, which shows how quickly the retailer is opening new doors.

The clothing and homewares retailer, which, like Dealz and Poundland, is part of the Pepco Group, continues its pan-European expansion with the new store. Pepco currently operates four locations in Germany, the company announced on Thursday. Further stores are already being planned.

Expansion to Portugal

The Polish retail chain also wants to expand into new markets. After Pepco has been active in Greece and thus in 17 markets since October, Portugal is to be added next spring.

“Pepco is one of the most compelling physical retail growth stories in Europe and this landmark opening in Berlin underscores our confidence in the group’s strategy,” said Trevor Masters, Managing Director of Pepco Group. “All of Europe is now an addressable market for us and we will continue our profitable store opening program – which remains our greatest source of value creation – to capitalize on this opportunity.”

Pepco started in Poland in 2004 and, in addition to Germany, Croatia and Greece, is now also active in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Romania and Lithuania as well as in Spain, Italy and Austria.
