New pension law is immediately criticized
The Hague – Broad indexation of pensions is really in sight for the first time in years. If the rapidly rising interest rates do not suddenly collapse in the coming months, many pension funds will finally be able to index again after 1 July. The two largest funds in the Netherlands say they also want to do this quickly, now that the cabinet wants to relax the rules. After years of erosion of purchasing power, this would mean that many people with a pension would have more money in their wallets. The possible summer windfall is part of the new pension law that was finally presented on Wednesday, after dozens of discussion in the polder and politics.
