Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf brings former Adler CEO Thomas Freude to the management board

The Düsseldorf clothing retailer Peek & Cloppenburg KG (P&C) presented a well-known new addition to its management team on Friday. The group announced that Thomas Freude had joined the company management as a managing member. In the future, he will be responsible for “overarching the areas of online & CRM, logistics, HR & corporate communications, sales, as well as expansion and construction”.

Freude has over twenty years of experience with major retail and service companies. Among other things, in the course of his career he managed the clothing chain Adler Modemärkte as CEO. and has held various management positions at Telekom and Hamburg-based retail and services group Otto Group, as well as at retailers such as Karstadt, Galeria Kaufhof and Sinn Leffers. Most recently, Freude ran his own consulting firm. His new employer explained that he had “already worked together in a spirit of trust with Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf in the context of consulting projects.

At P&C, the experienced manager takes on a wide range of tasks

CFO Steffen Schüller, who is one of the executive members of the company management together with newcomer Freude and Edgar Hert, welcomed the appointment: “In Thomas Freude we were able to recruit an experienced manager for P&C. His many years of expertise will help us to advance the successful development of our company, even in a challenging market environment,” he said in a statement.

In addition to the three managing directors, Sven Bernhardt, Ricardo Carballo, Uwe Fehr, Melanie Kleemann, Carolin Schwarz and Henriette Tesch are currently also members of the management board of the retail group.
