Swedish sportswear label Peak Performance opened a pop-up store in Shanghai on Friday. In addition to the store at Jing’an Kerry Center Shopping Mal, there was the Toast House on Wukang Road for a limited time.
The facade of the historic building became an eye-catcher with a quilted line that was intended to be reminiscent of the brand’s “Helium” line. This distinctive quilting pattern holds the down better in one place and prevents it from shifting downwards. “Compared to traditional down products, there are fewer cold spots at the seams,” says the brand.
The interior design was inspired by a Nordic ski lodge and was intended to encourage visitors to maintain lightness, relaxation and warmth in fast-paced city life.

The Peak Performance Helium line of skiwear is named after the noble gas to symbolize lightness. “As a professional outdoor brand, Peak Performance is very aware of the needs of outdoor enthusiasts in their equipment. Every gram of weight represents an additional burden, which is why we focus on extreme lightness when designing the Helium ski suits, including zippers, cords and other details,” explains the brand.
Fun fact: Ten helium balloons can pull up a helium ski suit.

The Swedish brand, which belongs to the sporting goods group Amer Sports, is also very popular in China and currently operates five of its own stores in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen as well as four franchise stores and one outlet store.
In Germany, the brand increased its presence with a new store in Munich, which opened its doors on October 18th.
The new “Helium” fall/winter collection is now available in stores.
