Paying to drive into the center of New York: new measure encounters resistance from residents, taxi drivers and Trump

Starting today, motorists will have to pay to enter downtown New York. During the busiest hours, a toll of 9 dollars (approximately 8.72 euros) per vehicle applies. This makes New York the first city in the US to introduce such a measure. Large cities such as London, Stockholm and Singapore have previously switched to similar systems.
