Paul Pogba doesn’t need to go under the knife

French football world champion Paul Pogba, who returned to Italy’s record champions Juventus Turin after six years at Manchester United, managed to avoid an operation despite meniscus problems.

After thorough examinations, the midfielder opted for conservative therapy, the news agency “AFP” reported, citing club circles.

Pogba will “undergo conservative therapy for five weeks,” said a club spokesman.

The player will spend the first three weeks in the gym, swimming pool and physiotherapy, the last two on the field to perform differentiated athletic work.

The Frenchman could be available to Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri at the beginning of September. Most recently, Italian media had reported on a planned intervention in the United States that would have meant a longer outage.

Pogba has signed a four-year deal in Turin with an estimated annual salary of €7.5m.
