That would be a real hammer: National goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen has supposedly got on the siding at FC Barcelona and is supposed to leave the association.

Several Spanish media reported that Barca President Joan Laporta had declared the captain as a candidate for sales.

The reports hit high waves on the Iberian peninsula. The “AS” writes of a “bang” that Marc-André Ter Stegen is therefore “no longer indispensable”.

At the beginning of May, Ter Stegen had given his comeback for Barca seven months after a serious knee injury. In the crucial season games, coach Hansi Flick had placed the Polish veteran Wojciech Szczesny.

According to the current reporting, the 35-year-old will not be planned as number one in the future, but the top talent Joan García from the city rival Espanyol.

According to a report by RAC-1, Laporta is confident that the 24-year-old will switch to Barca-in this case, Stegen should go.

Previously, “Mundo Deportivo” had also written, García, who is also traded at Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester City, is at the top of Flick’s transfer wish list for this summer.

His contractually stipulated transfer is “only” 25 million euros, so García would also be affordable for the clammy Barca.

Out after eleven years at FC Barcelona?

Ter Stegen still has a contract with the Catalans until 2028, in 2014 he changed from Borussia Mönchengladbach there.

There is currently no doubt about his role as a national team of the national team. He was “extremely” pleased with Ter Stegen’s return to the final Four of the Nations League, national coach Julian Nagelsmann said in the course of the squadry. “We have often emphasized that he is our number 1.”
