Patty Brard finds it lame that Beau van Erven Dorens has once again expressed his disappointment about the departure of Renze Klamer from the failed RTL Tonight. “Done with it,” it sounds.

The departure of Renze Klamer from the ratings flop RTL Tonight seems to cause some irritation for Beau van Erven Dorens, one of the remaining hosts. Last weekend he expressed his disappointment for the second time that Renze had thrown in the towel. But critics find that a bit lame.

Not fair

In his season finale, Beau had Angela de Jong at the table and she asked him again for his opinion. “You could see that Beau felt a little uncomfortable about it, but had to say again that he is disappointed in his colleague,” says show expert Jordi Versteegden at the desk of Show news.

“If you do that for the second time to your colleague, then I don’t think that’s quite right fair or something. I mean: Renze just tried, but it’s just not his format.”

Different response

Presenter Airen Mylene has mixed feelings about it. “He couldn’t have given any other response, could he, to this question again?”

Colleague Patty Brard is critical. “He could also have said: ‘I already explained it last week, that’s it.’”

Jordi: “Yes, I think I would have done that.”

Patty: “Me too.”

Jordi: “Yes, because now you get again… I mean: we are talking about it again tonight and I don’t know if this is the attention that RTL Tonight wants.”

Old Boulevard

The future of RTL Tonight is still uncertain. “I recently spoke to Humberto and he said: ‘In two months’, which was around Christmas, ‘then we have to make a decision about the continuation of our program’,” says Jordi.

He continues: “Beau feels very comfortable with it. I understand that in his case, because he seems completely at home with Albert again. It really is the old Boulevard you are looking at again.”

Lighter show

Perhaps they want that too, says Patty. “Maybe that’s the intention, isn’t it, that they want to make it a lighter show and that Renze just thinks about it completely differently. We have already seen Albert and Beau in that combination and if you do them late at night, it might be a success.”

Jordi: “On the other hand: that’s what they are doing right now. I also spoke to Albert tonight and he is also very happy and says that he sees growth. Yes, perhaps I am seeing the wrong figures in front of me, but I think it is too cautious growth to continue this way for a long time.”

Personality shows

Patty thinks they should go back to the old format. “I think they should start making personality shows again.”

She understands that Renze has left RTL Tonight. “He’s not into the singing bus driver, you know?” she says, pointing to a somewhat trivial item in the show’s last season finale.
