Patrick would like to have the bottom of the lid of his coffin decorated. “So that I have a nice view when I’m in it,” he explains. “I ask everyone to leave a personal message. (…) It’s fun again, with a loaded background. But that’s not a big deal in this situation.”

Because there are still wooden planks left from the coffin that Patrick made with his friends, they decide to make a special keepsake coffin. Patrick puts in his motorcycle suit, his new helmet and a ski suit. But also small things, such as cufflinks with a special meaning. And a book in which Patrick answers questions about his life so that Norwin can get a better idea of his father when he grows up. When his son later has questions about who his father was, he can open the box and grab the belongings. “Look at this. This is what your father loved and left behind for you,” Patrick describes it himself.

As with every episode of Over my dead body, viewers shed a tear at the sad stories and the special way in which the candidates deal with their diagnosis.
