In the summer of 2024, Pascal Groß moved to Dortmund. His time with the Bundesliga club is already over.

Borussia Dortmund and Pascal Groß will go their separate ways in the future. The German international is moving back to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. BVB officially announced this on Friday. Groß had already played for the English between 2017 and 2024.

BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl said about the change that Groß “came to us wanting a change”. The DFB professional is hoping for more playing time than in the previous season. Kehl described Groß as a “top professional” who was very highly regarded on and off the pitch. That’s why the player’s wishes were met.

Dortmund released Groß from Brighton in 2024 for seven million euros. Now BVB is reportedly getting another two million euros for the 34-year-old, whose contract would have expired next summer anyway.

In the club statement, Groß described playing for Dortmund as a lifelong dream that had come true. “Especially running in front of the yellow wall in our stadium was always an indescribable feeling,” said the midfielder.
