Party chairman PVV Emmen will be back in council next month

Party chairman Klaas Bosma of the Emmer PVV will return to the council next month. More than two months ago, he temporarily stopped work due to burnout complaints. His party colleague Mirjam Kuhl has been out of the running since the end of 2022 for the same reason. According to Bosma, discussions with Kuhl will follow this month.

The PVV came to the 2022 municipal elections with two seats, occupied by Kuhl and Bosma, in the Emmer council. Both had not been seen in the council chamber since last summer. Bosma was replaced by Tommy Post for a few months this fall.

He is now preparing for his return. The combination of council work, running his own business and building a home became too much for Bosma at a certain point, he explains. “But the new construction is complete and that creates space again.”

He makes no concrete statements about Kuhl’s return. “It’s up to her whether to keep her seat or not.” There will be further discussions with her and Tommy this month, Bosma said when asked.

In addition to Bosma, party leader Robart de Jong of the one-man party Hart voor Emmen has also been out of the running since the summer. De Jong gave the reason that he was suffering from health problems. According to him, the situation is still the same and he will not return for a while.
