The French fashion group SMCP is opening up a new market. On Thursday, the parent company of the Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot and Fursac brands announced plans to expand into India next year.
The clothing supplier relies on cooperation with the local trading group Reliance Brands Limited (RBL). Reliance Brands will act as the exclusive distribution partner for the Sandro and Maje labels in India, it said in a statement.
The partnership underlines the group’s expansion efforts in “key markets with high growth potential,” explained SMCP. The first Sandro and Maje stores in India are scheduled to open next year.
