Club Brugge had a dream start. Nicolo Tresoldi scored the opening goal in the sixth minute. The joy was short-lived in the Jan Breydel Stadium. Two minutes later the Catalans were level again thanks to Ferran Torres: 1-1. The Belgians got away well after Fermin Lopez curled the ball against the crossbar moments later.

Yet it was Bruges that took the lead again. After more than fifteen minutes of play, Forbs completed a perfect attack and made it 2-1.
Who else but Lamine Yamal
Barcelona made the play and went all out on the attack and was unlucky when Jules Koundé’s shot hit the crossbar. Before halftime, Barça were unable to convert the field overview into an equalizer.

In the second half, the Belgians immediately had a chance to take a 3-1 lead. Joaquin Seys took a surprising swing, but goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny reduced his angle and prevented worse. After an hour of play the score was tied. Who else but Lamine Yamal was the goalscorer. After a wonderful action with Lopez, the 18-year-old prodigy tapped the ball into the Brugge goal.
Barcelona unscathed in injury time
Once again it was Forbs who gave Club Brugge the lead for the third time moments later. Soon after the equalizer, the Portuguese chipped the ball past Szczęsny: 3-2.
Ten minutes before the final whistle, the score was 3-3, as former FC Twente striker Christos Tzolis put the ball into his own goal. In the closing seconds, Barcelona even escaped unscathed, after Romeo Vermant grabbed the ball from Szczesny and tapped it into the Catalan goal. However, after the intervention of the video referee, the goal was disallowed because Vermant committed a foul.
