Experienced coach Obradovic announced his resignation with a statement on the club’s website.
Thanking Partizan fans for their support, Obradovic said, “4.5 years ago, I returned to my beloved club and set out to live the best dream with you. 10 years later, I wanted and aimed for our Partizan to be part of the Europa League again. We achieved this together. The matches of our beloved club have become much more than basketball, thanks to you, who deserve it the most. Unfortunately, the moment has come when I have to take responsibility for all the bad things that happened this season and submit my resignation. To everyone who supports our club, the club “I would like to thank the president, board members, all employees of the club, players, my technical team and sponsors. I am always one of you, I am forever grateful.” he said.
The Serbian head coach, who previously coached Partizan between 1991 and 1993, took over the team for the second time in 2021.
During his career, Obradovic became one of the legends of European basketball by winning 9 championships in the Europa League, once with Partizan, Joventut, Real Madrid and Fenerbahçe, and 5 times with Panathinaikos.
Partizan had 4 wins and 9 losses in 13 matches in the Europa League this season.
