UEFA: “Condemn the Russian invasion”
UEFA made a specific statement on the war on Thursday. “UEFA strongly condemns the ongoing Russian military invasion of Ukraine”it said in a statement: “We remain resolute in our solidarity with the football community in Ukraine and stand ready to reach out to the Ukrainian people.”
The final planned in Saint Petersburg had been criticized by politicians in view of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, several MPs and members of the European Parliament called for the game to be rescheduled.
