Former Wolfsburg player Edin Džeko could leave AC Fiorentina after just six months and two goals in 18 games (722 minutes). The 39-year-old, who recently sat on the bench at Viola and was usually only on the pitch from the start in the Conference League, has been linked to various clubs for days. According to the French sports newspaper “L’EquipeParis FC has made a concrete move. The fans’ hopes of Džeko returning to his youth club FK Zeljeznicar have already been dashed.

“Edin Džeko and Nijaz Brković did not talk about Edin’s move to FK Zeljeznicar,” the Croatian newspaper quoted “Sportske novosti” Jasmin Ligata, a spokesman for the veteran. “This is not a realistic option at this point in time. The conversation was about the club’s management’s vision for the future. It was an advisory and friendly conversation. The president of Zeljeznicar will also confirm this to you.” Džeko had always emphasized that he kept in his heart the club he left in 2005 to move to Teplice. The top scorer went from the Czechs to Wolfsburg in 2007 for 4 million euros, and the rest is history.
