Monoski driver Anna-Lena Forster was unable to repeat her victory in the Super-G at the World Cup in Bardonecchia. Even for Anna-Maria Rieder and Alexander Rauen, the competition did not run as hoped.
The four -time Paralympic winner Forster took second place in the seated class on Wednesday (February 26th, 2025) behind the Spaniard Audrey Pascual Seco. However, their gap at the finish was already more than six seconds.
In addition to Forster and Pascual Seco, Barbara van Bergen was also at the start, but the Dutchman could not get her run over. The day before, Forster won the first Super-G in Italy in front of her two competitors.
The 29-year-old’s parade discipline is the slalom. A few weeks ago, she won her fourth title in a row at the World Cup in Maribor after a catch -up. Forster has been unbeaten in the World Cup slalom since 2019.
Rieder and Rauen past the podium
Anna-Maria Rieder had secured her seventh World Cup medal in the standing class in Maribor. In Bardonecchia, however, she missed the podium and, as on Tuesday, was fourth with a clear deficit (+ 10.69 seconds) behind day winner Ebbe Aarsjoe from Sweden. Aurelie Richard (France/+ 2.00) and Claure Petit (Netherlands/+ 6.44) landed in places second and three.
Alexander Rauen also missed the jump to the podium. In the visually impaired class, he finished fourth like Rieder and was 14.74 seconds behind Johannes Aigner. The Austrian won ahead of Hyacinthe Deleplace (France/+ 2.27) and Mingyu Hwang (South Korea/+ 3.71). Rauen had left prematurely in the first Super-G race.
