Papa Waigo: “You have to play as a fan against Juve. I will write a book on 2-3”

“The goal against Juve made me enter the history of Fiorentina, I’m tied to this club”

Interviewed by Pentasportthe former viola Papa Waigospoke thus of the challenge awaiting Fiorentina on Sunday, also recalling the historic 2 March 2008:

How do you prepare for the match against Juve? You have to forget football and everything else, you have to be a fan on the pitch. Any player must also know the history of the club. Some don’t know the rivalry, the players need to know about the rivalry there is with Juventus, to be able to play it better. The goal against Juve made me enter the history of Fiorentina, I am tied to this club, perhaps much more than players who have done better than me. The fans still write to me today. The comeback? In a couple of years I’m going to write a little book, about the match and everything that happened after that. For me it is history. I came from two excellent games against Livorno and Siena and for this reason I was thinking of starting in Turin. But the coach (Prandelli, ed) told me, like Osvaldo, that I would come in to overturn the game and win it, it was incredible
