Pantone reveals a ‘mood shift’ for London Fashion Week color trend report

The Pantone Color Institute, the US-based color institute Pantone, has announced that London Fashion Week (LFW) for Autumn/Winter 2024, taking place from February 16 to 20, will bring a “change of mood” with Designers choose colors that are both wearable and desirable.

Described as a palette of “strong and powerful colors,” LFW’s Fall/Winter 2024 Color Trend Report brings together a “fusion of retro influences with a desire to create new visions” with hues such as cherry red, ethereal blue, bold orange and lush green.

The season’s top ten colors combine wearability and desirability, with sophisticated nuances, natural colors, dark tones and “natural and honest” neutrals, signifying a shift toward “strong, cross-season appeal and an inherent statement of elegance and lightness.”

Pantone notes that while the colors are simple and practical, they are also “visually appealing,” offering an approach to clothing that is “purer and simpler” but also lends itself to “creativity and playfully dramatic accents.”

“The colors for London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024/2025 redefine core colors and non-seasonal hues,” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, said in a statement on Friday. “Combined with a considered approach to the functionality of color, this creative yet accessible palette creates a strong base upon which to layer playful accent tones that add drama to simplicity, indulge the senses and embrace the ‘elevated everyday’.”
