Panthers as the first team in the playoffs

The Florida Panthers were the first team to reach the playoffs in the North American ice hockey professional league NHL.

Led by top star Jonathan Huberdeau, who scored to make it 1-1, the Sunrise team won 5-3 at the Buffalo Sabers and increased their tally to 102 points.

Tim Stützle, who gave an assist, defeated the Detroit Red Wings with the Ottawa Senators 5:2 with the strong rookie Moritz Seider.
