Pandora appoints new marketing director

Mary Carmen Gasco-Buisson is Pandora’s new Head of Marketing this fall.

In her role as chief marketing officer, Gasco-Buisson will drive brand desirability and growth, the Danish jewelry brand announced on Tuesday. She reports directly to Managing Director Alexander Lacik.

Gasco-Buisson joins Pandora from UK consumer goods company Unilever, where she currently serves as Global Vice President. Among other things, she pushed ahead with the realignment of the Ax brand. Before that, she held management positions at the US care products group Procter & Gamble, including Global Marketing & Innovation Director for Hugo Boss Fragrances.

“I am pleased that Mary Carmen will join our team and help us achieve the growth goals we have set ourselves with the Phoenix strategy. She brings outstanding experience building, expanding and turning around global consumer brands,” said Lacik. “She has a deep understanding of today’s consumers and is able to translate this knowledge into innovative business strategies.

Pandora has expanded the marketing area over the past three years. The company currently invests 13 to 15 percent of its turnover in this area. Part of this is also an organizational structure in marketing, for which Pandora brings marketing experts like Gasco-Buisson to its headquarters in Copenhagen.
