Panda’s cardboard boxes of chocolate raisins and Ahaa chocolate bars will soon no longer be found in stores. Their production was stopped at the end of last year.
Orkla Finland’s confectionery business marketing manager Vesa Vainio tells you what it’s about.
– Panda Chocolate Raisins packed in a cardboard box will be removed from the assortment, as the packaging machine used to pack the product has reached the end of its life cycle.
Vainio states that every year new products are introduced to Panda’s range and sometimes some products or packaging solutions are abandoned.
– The sale of Panda Chocolate Raisins in cardboard boxes ends, but the product itself is still manufactured and sold in a bag, Vainio says.

The production of the Ahaa Suklaacrisp bar, launched in 1992, has also been stopped at the turn of the year.
According to Vainio, it was decided to give up the bar-style Ahaa sweets, because its packaging machine also reached the end of its life cycle.
– In the future, we will focus on selling Ahaa Suklaacrisp sweets in Panda Palat bags and bulk sweets selections, Vainio says.
According to him, loose sweets have grown in popularity in recent years.
– One of the reasons for sure is that you can pick the right amount of sweets for your sweet tooth from the bulk sweets.
Vainio states that so far consumers have not commented much on the change. There have been only a few questions about it.

On the other hand, consumers have reacted more strongly on social media. For example, on Tiktok of Panda sweets, the change is commented on, among other things, like this:
– A really bad decision to remove the chocolate raisin package. It’s such a credit card. Many times I have bought e.g. a movie. I will never buy a large one, lest I accidentally draw such a quantity in a short time.
– The chocolate raisin box is my childhood.
– Ahaa is the iconic Panda bar, it must not be removed under any circumstances! It’s a bit like Fazer removing the Blue bar from the selection.
– No, the Ahaa bar is the best.
– The chocolate raisin box is the number one product for a snack in the car.
– Ahaa bars may not be removed. They are the best.
– The Aha bar must never be removed.
