Panda Bear and Sonic Boom announce collaborative album RESET

Longtime friends Panda Bear (Noah Lennox) and Sonic Boom (Peter Kember) announce their collaborative album RESET. The album is scheduled for release on August 12th. Below is the track listing.

RESET

The two artists have worked together before: Sonic Boom worked on the solo albums of Panda Bear TOMBOY (2011) and PANDA BEAR MEETS THE GRIM REAPER (2015), among others. RESET is her biggest project so far. The album is inspired by American doo-wop and rock ‘n’ roll LPs from the 50’s and 60’s. The songs on the album reflect the musical careers of Panda Bear and Sonic Boom. Happy songs that convey strength, community and a strong team spirit. On July 13th we get our first taste of the duo with the single “Go On” – a sample of the song “Give It to Me” from 1967. The music video for the song was directed and animated by James Stewart.

“A 40 Minute Strange Light”

Panda Bear and Sonic Boom met through the MySpace platform. Since then, the two have maintained a close friendship and partnership. To “take their collaboration to the next level,” Sonic Boom considered an album together. RESET was created during the international lockdowns and contains nine tracks in total. The two describe their album as “a 40-minute strange light that shines out of a particularly dark time.”
