Actress Pamela Anderson and drummer Tommy Lee were an iconic couple of the 90sif only because they were protagonists of one of the first cases of “viality” of a world of the web then in its infancy: the diffusion of an intimate video. That incredible story, an expression of an era, has become a TV series.

The series does not linger on the rough or the “forbidden”, but concocts a plot that touches the uncovered nodes of the networkon the border between privacy, narcissism and the mechanisms of the communication industry.

In the shoes of the couple we find Lily James and Sebastian Sten (both finished in Golden Globe nominations), but they are not the only protagonists; the series revolves around the ambiguous figure of Rand Gauthier (Seth Rogen)a carpenter who had worked in the couple’s luxurious villa and who, in revenge for the non-payment, completes an operation destined to upset the world of the media and the erotic industry. It is he, in fact, who enters the Lee house and finds the video in his handsdiscovering, almost unconsciously, the diffusion power of the web.

Pam & Tommy it is a fulminating fresco on the rhetoric of the internet, on the unpreparedness of the old world in the face of the imminent digital revolution.
For those who love the nineties mood and want to reflect on the transformations of communication.
