Paaspop is going to do a one-off stunt with the price of tickets for 2027. They are doing this because the festival in Schijndel has existed for fifty years and because ticket prices for festival goers have become extremely expensive. This is what Paaspop director Peter Sanders tells Omroep Brabant. “This is costing us money, we may have to make some cuts somewhere.”
A day at Easter Pop will easily cost more than 200 euros this year. Due to the increased prices of tickets and tokens, changing behavior of young people and young adults and an abundance of festivals, festivals such as Paaspop, Pinkpop and Lowlands are no longer sold out.
How much do the first tickets for Paaspop 2027 cost?
According to Paaspop director, the maximum ticket price for festival tickets has been reached. Even though Paaspop 2026 has yet to start, ticket sales for 2027 have already been considered. “We have come up with a super promotion,” Sanders begins. “The first tickets for next year will go on sale on Tuesday, the Super Early Bird tickets. Because we have been in existence for fifty years, we are giving a 50 euro discount on this year’s ticket price.”
A weekend Easter pop costs 199 euros. “We really do that for the public. That of course costs us money, so we have to look at how we are going to solve that. For example, by getting extra income elsewhere or by making some cuts.”
Festivals have faced rising costs in recent years because labor, fuel and transport have become more expensive. For example, the war in Iran immediately costs Paaspop an extra 80,000 euros.
Can Paaspop still grow?
According to year, Paaspop has been around for fifty years. It has gone from something very local and small to the opener of the festival season. “We have grown by 2,000 visitors every year,” says a proud Sanders. “It couldn’t be bigger now and we think it’s perfect now.”
This year there are 35,000 visitors per day, 105,000 festival goers over three days. Last year, the festival director expressed the ambition to greet 120,000 visitors. But those plans are on hold for now. “We don’t want more visitors at the moment. It’s nice that way.”
“I don’t think it’s too busy. But we are aware that it shouldn’t get busier and that it doesn’t matter if it becomes a little quieter.” Sanders knows that Paaspop visitors need a place to sit quietly and have a drink. “That’s why we created the provost square in the middle of the site. However, a set piece had to make way for this.”
