The Black Sabbath legend tells about his niska fracture in a new book.
Ozzy Osbourne was able to get her biography Last rites Just before his death last July.
The book, which focuses on the last years of Osbourne, discusses the serious health problems of the musician, some of which were created in accidents and some as a result of substance abuse, some of both.
His neck Ozzy for the first time hurt badly in 2003 when he went in the middle of The osbournes for the ATV ride on descriptions. The tires hit the pit, Ozzy flew into the air, stumbled on the ground and the ATV fell over him.
Ozzy was reportedly for eight days in a coma hospital. He hurt his hand, his lungs and the collarbone, but the doctors got the worst injuries repaired.
I had more screws and nuts than in the hardware store, says Ozzy in his book.
The much worse accident happened in February 2019 and this accident affected Ozzy’s rest of life.
Ozzy had to cancel his gigs as bronchitis due to the flu, and he healed himself at home. Ozzy remembers going to bed at midnight.
His spouse, Sharon, had already fallen into the cuddies.
Both tried to sleep, but Ozzy woke up to the toilet.
I had a joke, but the room was dark and my head was full. So I waited… and waited… and waited until finally – well fuck anyway! – I got out of bed and shaken to the bathroom, Ozzy says in the book.
Ozzy went back to the bedroom in the dark. He did not light the lights because he didn’t want to wake up Sharon.
When I was a few steps away from our cheat, I did what I always did.
Jihaaaaaaaaaa… Pam!
“Ozzy?” “Ozzy? Ozzy?! What happened?”
I could just decorate. First I felt a sharp sting in my eyes.
Sharon had turned on all the lights. Sharon’s brain still took the figure, so he was confused. I was not seen anywhere.
“Ozzy? Where are you? What on earth…”
He saw me.
“A good creator.”
I lay on the floor far from bed. I still don’t understand how I managed to jump past it. The bed is gigantic, like a tanker parked in the middle of the room.
Ozzy couldn’t get up from the floor. According to him, the pain was worse than ever before.
In the basket I could only form three rational words: “Fuck my neck!”
Sharon said my hands were still against my upper body as he saw me curled up on the floor. I hadn’t lifted my hands to protect during the plunge. I was so sure I would descend to a soft pillow mattress. What on earth had I rewinded? Why not jump my hands ahead? Did I imagine being Batman or something? Sharon believes that when I jumped on the carpet, I had stumbled upon, hit my head in the bed corner or bedside table and landed in the middle of the floor. I had no idea about that.
Rescue staff came and Ozzy was taken to the hospital. In the hospital, Ozzy had to queue despite Sharon’s appeal.
I heard his voice from far from the reception, “Don’t you know who my husband is?”
“Mrs. Good, not,” was the answer.
“He’s Ozzy-Vitun-Osbourne!”
“Just the same even if he is Santa himself. He has to wait for his turn.”

The accident and its not so successful treatment began with a long and difficult recovery period.
As a result of a failed surgery, Ozzy even got into the intensive care unit.
After surgery, Ozzy was in poor condition as before the surgery. He had severe pain and the recovery did not progress at all. Slow recovery was also influenced by Ozzy’s Parkinson’s disease.
In the summer of 2021, the situation had worsened.
A few months earlier, I had been able to circulate the block eight times with my stick, but now I could barely do one round. Every time I moved my head, it felt like someone was trying to tear it off. Soon I would no longer need walking support for movement. I would need a wheelchair. I could keep my neck support all the way to the grave, Ozzy writes.
He really kept his neck support for the rest of his life.
Ozzy underwent several repairs, the last of which in 2023. All Ozzy gigs were canceled, and it was clear to Ozzy that he would no longer go around.
I was happy in a strange way when he said that this would not continue. Hope can be the worst. Sometimes it is better to hear that there is no more light at the end of the tunnel. As sad as all of this, at least I have nothing unfortunate. I’m alive – or at least I’m writing this.
Ozzy Osbourne performed once more. The farewell concert was held on July 6, 2025 at Villa Park in Birmingham.
Prince of darkness died on July 22 at the age of 76.
