Özcan Akyol refuses to watch B&B Vol Liefde or the current winter variant Winter Vol Liefde, because he thinks it’s all too much of a hype. “RTL really creates hysteria around it.”
It’s starting to bother Özcan Akyol a bit that B&B Vol Liefde and Winter Vol Liefde are being milked so much. Not only do you have a broadcast on TV every day, former candidates also appear in countless other programs. You simply cannot ignore it, but the presenter does not feel the need to look at it.
Madness and hysteria
RTL can screw up with that program, if it is up to Özcan. Even for his TV column in the VARA guide he doesn’t look. “Well, I have to disappoint you: there are limits to my work ethic for this wonderful media column. That program doesn’t appeal to me at all,” he fumes.
He continues: “And because of the hysterical commotion that RTL Nederland creates around it, plus all the craziness from viewers, who are also abundantly present in the media, I have no desire to follow it at all. No, just give me some beautiful Scandinavian crime fiction. They are beautiful and inspiring.”

Who is a fan of Winter Vol Liefde is the infamous juice queen Yvonne Coldeweijer. She watches together with her lover. “We are like that obsessed with this program. Of course I thought B&B was really great. Last time I didn’t start juicing about B&B until it was over. I now want to do that with Winter Vol Liefde,” she says juicechannel.
What do you mean she brings that juice? “I think it’s a shame, because I don’t want to read about who is still together. I want to enjoy the program first. I want to watch it completely first and then I want to juice about it, so I’m not going to do that.”
