The number of infections with SARS-CoV-2 has increased slightly. The other corona figures remain at a fairly stable level. This is apparent from the most recent epidemiological update from the health institute Sciensano.
Between September 3 and September 9, daily average 1,605 people infected with the coronavirus, an increase of 8 percent compared to the 7-day period before.
From 6 to 12 September, every day were averaged 57.3 corona patients admitted to hospital, a decrease of 2 percent on a weekly basis.
There are currently still 709 corona patients in Belgian hospitals, or 10 percent less compared to the 786 patients on Monday, September 5. The number of corona patients requiring intensive care increased from 62 to on a weekly basis 68.
Between September 3 and September 9 succumbed daily on average 4.9 people from the consequences of a corona infection. That is a decrease of 15 percent.
It reproduction number lies with 0.970 still below 1. If the Rt value is higher than 1, the corona pandemic is gaining momentum.
The positivity ratio remains stable and amounts to 20 per cent. There were daily average 8,587 tests decreased between September 3 and 9, a slight increase of 9 percent.
