Outbreaking fire in barn with old cars in Mariahout

Early Wednesday morning, a raging fire raged in a barn near a house on the Rooijseweg in Mariahout. Initially, the fire service reported that it was a house fire. At that time, around half past six, she indicated that it was not clear whether anyone was still present in the house.

A little later it became clear that it was a barn fire. No one was injured in the fire. Around 8:30 a.m., firefighters said they had the situation under control. She also indicated that a small amount of asbestos may have been released during the fire.

The advice to local residents is not to come and have a look and to stay out of the smoke.

Cause still unclear
The fire brigade pulled out around half past six on Wednesday morning with two fire engines to fight the fire. After arrival, the fire brigade focused on preventing the fire from spreading in the eight by ten meter barn. The barn was completely on fire.

It is not yet clear what caused the fire. The barn contains old vehicles and materials, among other things.
