Former Leverkusener Tim Steidten is no longer technical director of the English Premier League club West Ham United. The Londoners justified this with the fact that the new coach Graham Potter, who came in January, brought his own squad planner with them.
Steidten had moved to West Ham in the summer of 2023, where the German striker Niclas Füllkrug has been playing since the beginning of this season. After the 1-2 on Monday at Chelsea Chelsea, West Ham is in 15th place and is thus threatened with the descent.
Steidten: “Wonderful trip” comes to an end
“It was always my dream to work in a leading position in the Premier League. And it was actually a wonderful journey in a great club with great fans,” said Steidten in a statement. “We have initiated many processes and new structures together, have committed very exciting players with a lot of potential and together reached the quarter -finals of the Europa League. In the current constellation, however, it is the best to go their separate ways for everyone.”
Born in Bremen, he came from Werder to Bayer Leverkusen in 2019, where, as a manager, he was decisively involved in the compilation of the player. At West Ham, he has been responsible for the overarching strategy for the obligation of players and the cub department of the cub for over a year and a half.
After the then coach David Moyes had to go, his successor Julen Lopetegui is no longer in office and had to make room for Potter.
