Two years ago, then Minister of Justice Vincent Van Quickenborne (Open Vld) violated the corona rules by attending a party with more than eight guests in a private home. However, the public prosecutor’s office will not investigate this. “Baffling,” writes investigative journalist Jeroen Bossaert. “In 2021, citizens who violated corona rules were dealt with harshly by the Justice Department, but in 2023 the Justice Department will look away when an ex-minister appears to have done the same.”
