Union fans were able to take a look at Sheraldo Becker (28) on Wednesday at the only public session this week. But the attacker didn’t have enough time for team training.

The Dutchman only moved individually away from his colleagues and then went into the dressing room much earlier.

The reason is his injury on August 26th in the 4-1 win in Darmstadt. According to reports, Becker even suffered a double injury there: to his left thigh and his left calf. This delays recovery.

Becker has been back on the pitch since Tuesday. He was able to work with the ball a bit on Wednesday. Sprints and duels were out of the question.

Too bad for Union. The transfer period is over and Becker, who is willing to change, is still there. But unfortunately not fit for the Bundesliga.

Becker was sorely missed in the 3-0 defeat against Leipzig as an alternative to Kevin Behrens (32), David Datro Fofana (20) and Kevin Volland (31). The new signings Benedict Hollerbach (22) and Mikkel Kaufmann (22), who came on as substitutes against Leipzig, still have to get used to the Bundesliga. The duo was not even registered for the Champions League.

It is unlikely that Becker will be able to play in the games in Wolfsburg (September 16th) and Madrid (September 20th). This is also doubly tragic: Kevin Volland is suspended for three Bundesliga games after his red card against Leipzig. Offensively, Union is slowly running out of strong alternatives.
