Tonight Kat Steppe experiences her baptism of fire as director of a feature film. With actors such as Josse De Pauw and Peter Van den Begin as Horst and Franz in Zondag de Nineste, she delves into the world of the residential care center and dementia. They are two brothers who meet again in a residential care center. Horst suffers from dementia, but the meeting causes many sensitivities from the past to resurface.
“The common thread is memory,” says Kat Steppe, director of the film. “For people who can handle it easily, but also for people who cannot handle it so easily, such as people who suffer from dementia. I chose that theme because it concerns me personally and because I know that it is something that will be very tangible for many people in the coming years.”
