Nigeria defeated Tanzania 2-1 in the first match of the Africa Cup of Nations Group C.
The goals that brought Nigeria the victory were scored by Semi Ajayi in the 36th minute and Ademola Lookman in the 52nd minute.
Tanzania’s only goal came from Charler M’Mombwa in the 50th minute.
Beşiktaş’s Wilfred Ndidi and Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen started the match in the first 11. Neither player could contribute a goal or assist for their team in the match. While Ndidi remained on the field for 90 minutes, Victor Osimhen left the game in the 86th minute. Osimhen was replaced by Paul onuachu from Trabzonspor.
With this match, Nigeria started the African Cup with a victory.
