Swedish two Robin Andersson22, and Oskar albinsson22, decided to implement one of the strangest running ideas: Marathon Skellefteån McDonald’s.
“It exceeded all the expectations of how horrible it would be,” Robin laughs Expressen in an interview.
The duo of the inspiration got the special loops spreading online. Someone had run around the marathon living room table, the other in the roundabout.
The Swedish two decided to try their own version in a familiar environment.
On August 14, the duo ran a hundred rounds around Skellefteån McDonald’s. The distance was exactly 42 kilometers.
– It’s something you always remember. Stupid but fun, Robin summed up the Swedish magazine.
Desperate lunch
The marathon did not go in easy conditions. It was already raining from the beginning of the sky by pouring water, and the rain did not break until after 25 kilometers.
– It was cold and sweat at the same time, Oskar described.
Even the preparation of the duo was not the best. Oskar says he had only eaten cookies in the cookie and the baller biscuits of the package. Robin, for his part, had come from night shift, and the refueling consisted mainly of grapes and ice cream.
Still, they persisted in five hours and seven minutes.
– I had to get to the finish, it was the only goal, says Oskar.
Even though the journey was heavy, neither will regret for a moment.
– Why would I work out if I do something so stupid sometimes? It’s the point of the whole thing, Robin said according to Expressen.
– It’s a memory for the rest of your life. Only five hours of life, Robin encourages others to try.
