The clouds appear briefly in some places this morning. Those are somewhat higher cloud fields. There are also tilted clouds, a kind of tower-like clouds. “But otherwise it is a beautiful sunny morning,” says weatherman Jules Geirnaerdt. There is a weak to moderate wind from the southeast.
The temperature rises quickly, to around 31 to 33 degrees in the early afternoon. The maximum temperature directly at the sea is about 28 degrees, later there is more coolness on the beach due to a shifting wind. On Texel it is a maximum of 25 degrees. “It is a lovely warm summer morning, but it is oppressively hot,” says Geirnaerdt.
Some showers in the afternoon and more this evening
It will remain dry until the end of the afternoon, but later in the afternoon there will be a chance of a few thunderstorms. There is a greater chance of showers during the evening. “The showers will then group together, and that will certainly happen during the coming night,” says the weatherman.
There are gusts of wind up to 80 or 90 kilometers per hour, this happens further inland and more in the center of the country. “But it can also rain heavily at the sea, with a risk of lightning and hail,” says Geirnaerdt. “And tonight there will be new showers and there could be really heavy thunderstorms locally.”
