My love was hit by a car. She’s getting the maximum amount of morphine. More is not allowed, because then relevant organs can stop. The nurses and doctors have left the ER. That gives us some privacy. Suddenly she stops shivering in pain. I see that her breathing has also stopped. I call for help. A radiologist who has nothing to do with the EH comes in and yells in my sweetheart’s face: “Stay with me for a while, ma’am!” I hear her take a deep breath right away. The radiologist walks away undisturbed.
