As a psychologist I immerse myself in compulsive disorders. That afternoon in the Albert Heijn, a tall man opens the door of the freezer, exactly four times: open, closed, open, closed. He does it slowly and carefully. The door next door also four times. This way he goes off all doors. The other customers don’t look at him: of course they don’t want to embarrass him. Would he know he has a compulsive disorder? I packed my groceries. Then the freezer walks past me, toolbox under the arm. “He closes nicely again!” He still shouts.
