Milano, 27 December (askanews) – OpenAI has presented a plan to restructure its operations, separating its for-profit division from the nonprofit board that currently governs it.
The activity of the company that develops ChatGpt would transform into a public benefit corporation (PBC) with “common stock” and Delaware incorporation. This arm would oversee business operations, removing some of the nonprofit restrictions, allowing the AI pioneer company to function more like a high-growth startup.
OpenAI’s board of directors wrote in a post that we need to “raise more capital than we imagined” and that investors want to support the company, but by administering the capital in a conventional manner.
