US President Donald Trump greeted Easter Sunday with a threat to the Iranian government: She should “take the damn street [von Hormuz] open it, you crazy bastards.”

In a Truth Social post that appeared before his actual Easter video, Trump dropped a rare swear word for a president: “Tuesday will be the day of power plants and bridges all in one in Iran. There’s never been anything like this!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll live in hell – just look at it!”

Trump concluded his outburst with the words “Praise be to Allah.”

Reactions from within our own ranks

The tone of the message was too much even for some Republicans. Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene wrote on social media: “Anyone in his administration who claims to be a Christian needs to fall to their knees and ask God for forgiveness, stop worshiping the President and join in Trump’s madness. I know you all and him – he has fallen into madness and you are all complicit.”

Anthony Scaramucci added: “It was at this point that our Founding Fathers thought the best thing to do was to remove a madman holding the highest office. The 25th Amendment formalized that – but today, far more people should be calling for this man’s removal.”

Trump had previously given Iran a Tuesday deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the blockade of shipping on that oil route – otherwise the military would target Iran’s power plants and bridges.

“If they don’t back down, if they want to keep the road closed, they’re going to lose every power plant and every other facility in the entire country,” Trump told the Wall Street Journal on Sunday.
