Op1 star Welmoed Sijtsma sees his own TV program flop a lot

Op1 star Welmoed Sijtsma sees her own solo program De Bodyguard flop enormously. The third episode did not get any further than a disappointing 154 thousand viewers on NPO 3 yesterday.

Welmoed Sijtsma apparently wants to do more than just presenting Op1, but it is not very successful. The Bodyguard, in which the best bodyguard in the country is sought, scores poorly on Wednesday evening of NPO 3. Yesterday a new low record was set with only 154 thousand viewers and 3.6 percent market share.

‘This is scary’

Viewing authority Tina Nijkamp finds it very disappointing. “This is really scary. Only 154 thousand viewers for The Bodyguard with Welmoed Sijtsma. The previous two episodes already scored poorly with 225,000 viewers, but the program has now really flopped,” she says.

According to Tina, this is really rumbling in the margins. “Even I Have What Of You With Olcay Gulsen on Net5 scored 100 thousand viewers more. “Frans Klein already announced a second season on NPO 1 in the AD before the first episode had been on TV, but a second season is certainly not possible with these figures.”

Very unfortunate

Tina thinks it’s a shame for Welmoed that she has such an unbelievably bad start. “It’s a real shame for Welmoed, one of the greatest presentation talents in our country, but the format is poorly developed. The assignments of the program may be too far removed from the actual profession.”

She continues: “And it doesn’t seem to want to get really exciting, although the music suggests otherwise. Hopefully soon another chance for Welmoed with another program.”

Eyeballs on one

The prime time winner was Oogappels with a score below the million mark. 894 thousand people (21 percent) watched the broadcast on NPO 1. Directly opposite, I Can See Your Voice attracted 654 thousand viewers (15 percent) to RTL 4 and Steenrijk Straatarm 572 thousand viewers (13 percent) to SBS 6.

The most viewed titles at half past nine were Today Inside with 803 thousand viewers (18 percent) on SBS 6, Handen aan de Couveuse with 608 thousand viewers (14 percent) on NPO 1 and Nieuwsuur with 558 thousand viewers (13 percent) on NPO 2 .
