A new residential care center will be built on the Ter Luchte site in Ruddervoorde. The construction costs 13 million euros and must be completed within three years. The center will accommodate 119 residents.

“It should above all be a village building with a homely atmosphere,” says councilor for Welfare Nathalie Vandeputte. “We find the connection with the village very important.”

In addition, Oostkamp invests in the renewal of the village centers of Ruddervoorde and Hertsberge. The center of Oostkamp must also become greener and more attractive. The renovated church will open in Baliebrugge next school year, which will have a multifunctional purpose, including childcare.

“The building will be a meeting place for everyone,” says Alderman of Patrimonium Kris Declercq. “There will remain room for the church community, but also for schools and associations. The church will be open every day.”

The municipality also plans the construction of more than 100 new social homes, including in the Nieuwenhove district. 30 million euros will be invested in the construction of separate sewers.
