The iHerb online store was founded in 1996 in the US by Persian developer Ray Faraee. The company began selling tinctures of St. John’s wort to relieve symptoms of depression, and then products from a major brand of amino acids, vitamins and dietary supplements, Now Foods. Now it is one of the largest online retailers in the US, offering 30,000 products from 1,200 brands, including vitamin complexes, nutritional supplements, natural cosmetics, vegetarian products, household and pet products.

The marketplace supplies products to 188 countries. In Russia, the trading platform registered a legal entity and opened an office in 2019.

“Russia is an important market for iHerb at the level of Japan, South Korea and the USA. Interest in dietary supplements is growing all over the world, in this the markets are similar, – told CEO of iHerb in Russia Ilya Mikin. Last year, the company announced that it plans to localize the production of dietary supplements in Russia.

After the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, the Russian Post and a number of delivery services warned of an increase in delivery times due to the termination of air traffic with several southern regions of the country. Russian Post, as well as the delivery services SDEK and DHL, reported that they had stopped accepting shipments to/from Ukraine.

On February 24, after Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, the Federal Air Transport Agency suspended air traffic and the operation of 11 airports: in Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Elista, Stavropol, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh and Simferopol.
