The order of the Eurovision Song Contest reveals interesting things about settings and tactics in the scenes. One small tag may now become the fate of Erika Vikman, writes Mari Julku of Iltalehti.
Erika Vikman charmed Europe on Thursday evening. Aop
There is one night in the Eurovision finals. After the semifinals, it became clear that this year’s race has one overwhelming star: Finland Erika Vikman.
While other countries have spun on the stage with more confusing performances, Vikman swam completely upstream: he trusts only on the stage. Vikman has something that you can’t buy on a big budget – an incredible charisma that comes directly from the TV screens.
After Thursday’s semifinals at the latest, it became clear that Finland is fighting for victory in these (also) Eurovision Song Contest.
Until one more setback came at night.
The Eurovision Song Contest is often repeated that a good song wins from any venue. This is not completely true. The statistics show that the locations of the winning songs are focused on the end. In addition, there are so -called death sites for which success is very challenging – they focus on the opening half.
One of the sadd examples of performing numbers is the fate of the Finnish Paradise Oskar in the 2011 visa. Sympathetic Da da Dam competed in the semifinals at number 10, scored 103 points and finished third. Then my miserable lottery threw the Finnish finals into the opening number, which was a disaster for this kind of song. The score collapsed and Finland was one of the last.
At the time of Paradise Oskar, the order of performing was still fully drawn. This system was fair to everyone, but it caused such unfortunate situations – and sometimes very numb evenings, if, for example, several ballads were drawn in a row.
At some point in the production of Eurovision Song Contest, it became aware that it was entertainmentfrom the program. In today’s attention economy, it is important that the interest of viewers never dares. Therefore, it is not good to start the show with a guitar mood, but rather with the most explosive number.
Indeed, the importance of the lottery has been reduced in recent years, and power has been increasingly transferred to Eurovision producers.
There is one big thing in the situation, but it can now become the fate of Vikman.
26 countries will compete in this year’s visa final. The countries that entered the finals raised lotteries with words “first half”, “the second half” or “the producer’s choice”. Those who have raised the first half have to appear with numbers 1-13, the second half will receive a number 14-26 and the rest may be anywhere.
Interestingly, as the conductor of the order, the conductor of the order is hitting Christer Björkman.
The man is Swedish.
The situation has aroused (on the subject) of the wisdom. Sweden Kaj is the overwhelming winner of the Games and raised the “producer choice” of the tag from the lottery basket. The band got a number 23 in the finals, in practice, one of the best possible.
Pre -speculation was estimated that Kaj is specifically a favorite of telephone votes, and at least partly, Estonian coffee man Tommy Cash competes for the same voices. At this point, the situation becomes interesting, as Estonia also got the “producer choice”. But it was not pampered at a good place to perform, on the contrary: the earth was thrown into one of the saddest numbers, or third. The Estonian game has been played in practice.
The producers also played coldly from Israel. It ended up in a miserable fourth place by “choosing the producer”. This is probably completely thoughtful, as the victory of the controversial Israel could be the destruction of the entire Eurovision Song Contest. The burial of the country to the first half saves what can be rescued. This is probably one of the reasons that have made it to increase the influence of producers – “wrong” winners are easier to play out.
Unfortunately, Erika Vikman went to lift a tag from the lottery basket that threw him to the opening half. Raising the other two lotteries would have significantly raised the shares in a situation where the Swedish representative was given a dream place. With other values, Vikman would probably have been placed in the end.
But the solution to the producers will reveal an interesting thing: Vikman got the best place to give, that is, number 13. It is the same as the wrapper once, and as we remember, the wrapper crushed everyone else in the audience.
Producers know that Finland will fight for victory on Saturday.
