one portion less Samantha Steenwijk

RTL 4 seems to have definitively buried the Buddy Vedder show Tulips from Antwerp in a green park near the Mediapark. By-catch: one portion less Samantha Steenwijk on TV.

There was a lot to do six months ago: the new Buddy Vedder show Tulips from Antwerp. It was a collaboration between RTL 4 and the Belgians, but where our southern neighbors just blasted it on the tube, Peter van der Vorst and his friends apparently thought it was so bad that it was accompanied directly to the exit here.

Less Samantha

Peter was even advised from his own home not to broadcast this and thus protect Buddy’s still fragile TV career. “Why would you want to broadcast some kind of imminent flop of his? You can also think: you know what, we just don’t do it. Then no one has seen it here in the Netherlands,” said Luuk Ikink.

For a while it seemed that RTL 4 would hide this in the summer programming, but we did not see Buddy and his musical program in that either. And that automatically means one less portion of Samantha Steenwijk on our screen, because she was also in the show.

“Never on TV!”

Mediapark whisperer Tina Nijkamp thinks it is now certain that Tulips from Antwerp will never be on our television again. “It even has its own Wikipedia page, but the program Tulips from Antwerp definitely never appears on Dutch TV. RTL 4 seems to definitely abandon it,” she writes on her analysis channel.

She continues: “It had too bad reviews and ratings in Belgium last February. Implications? Tons of loss for RTL 4 and considerable disappointment for Dutch artists such as René Froger, Douwe Bob, Romy Monteiro, Samantha Steenwijk who hoped for new hits. Who’s happy? Buddy Vedder. He is spared a flop in the Netherlands.”
