Pope Francis (88) has subsequently succumbed to his many health troubles. As the Argentinian cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, he was unexpectedly assigned the highest office in the church in March 2013. As a pope of many scoops, he did chase a breath of fresh air through Vatican City. But he never fell to radical reforms – such as the abolition of priestly cell bate. On the contrary: at the end of his life his primal conservatism also appeared. Think of what he even called “assassins” during his recent visit to Belgium.
