One in four over-65s drink too much: “The elderly of today are no longer those of 20 years ago”

The current generation of over-65s likes a few hearty drinks. A quarter of the elderly drink more than the recommended maximum per week and one in ten is even a binge drinker. How many glasses do you have to drink for that? Why is alcohol so popular with older Flemish people? And what health risks does that entail? Clinical psychologist Yannic van Gils (UAntwerp and VUB) knows the answer.
