Macron published images on social media of the official welcome to the heads of state and government on Monday evening and carefully chose background music for each clip.
The “soundtrack” chosen for the images of Donald Trump’s arrival in Evian, again posted on Macron’s X profile, is different, namely the notes of “Love is a Long Road” by Tom Petty. For German Chancellor Friedrich Merz the song chosen was “Lieblingsmensch” (which means ‘favorite person’) by Namika while for Japanese Sanae Takaichi the preference fell on “Arigato” by Nxnja Beats, and for Canadian Mark Carney “J’irai où tu iras” (I’ll go where you go) by Celine Dion.
Closing the special playlist is “The world is not enough” by Garbage, the soundtrack to James Bond, with which he paid homage to the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and “The hymn to joy” for the EU leaders Ursula Von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, and Antonio Costa, president of the European Council.
