Yet it could all be worse. “People who continuously make noises are very irritating. I once played against someone who was clacking his dentures all the time. I was very distracted by that,” says drafts player Jesse Bos.
After 29 years in the premier class
Drafts club IJmuiden has existed for exactly 100 years. Last year, the drafts players were promoted to the premier class after 29 years. The team is having a difficult time at the highest level in the Netherlands and has not yet won.
Saturday’s match was also very tough. Opponent Dios Achterhoek has grandmasters Hendrik van der Zee, Alexander Pesman and Anatoli Gantvarg (four-time world champion) in the team.
