In a few weeks, Lucas Nieuweboer will be at the start of the Egmond half marathon. The 30-year-old athlete surprisingly won the previous edition. As defending champion, he is doing everything he can to perform stunts again and recently he has even trained near the North Pole.
Due to his girlfriend’s work, Lucas Nieuweboer can regularly be found on Spitsbergen, the archipelago located between Norway and the North Pole. “For me it is a pleasure there and I had a wonderful walk there.”
In the Netherlands, Nieuweboer likes to train in the Soesterduinen. During a training session, the former resident of Heemstede sometimes stops to spot birds. “I regularly point out a bird and everyone always likes that.”
